A photo of my father and his father. My father was a professional volleyballer for Vietnam’s Department of Defence Sport Club, where he became the national champion in the 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons.

Phuong Nguyen Le is a Vietnamese photographer based in Ho Chi Minh City and Melbourne. He focuses on the theme of what it is like to be young in this strange world. Constantly dealing with questions of ancestry, ethnicity and sexuality, Phuong uses photography as a tool to express his inner curiosity and to reflect on his own sense of self.
